Gene Extejt was a respected leader, entrepreneur, mentor, and friend whose influence helped shape the building industry in our community. He played an important role in the development of the Charlotte-DeSoto Building Industry Association (CDBIA), an organization that has served our region through decades of growth and change.

As the founder of Charlotte County Seawalls, Gene built a successful marine contracting business alongside his family, establishing a reputation for quality workmanship, superior materials, and unwavering ethical business practices. His commitment to excellence extended beyond his profession. An accomplished golfer, Gene treasured the time he spent on the course with family, friends, and colleagues, building relationships that lasted well beyond the game.

Perhaps one of Gene’s greatest contributions was his willingness to share his knowledge and experience with others. He was a mentor to those fortunate enough to learn from him, offering guidance grounded in years of hard work, integrity, and dedication to excellence in both business and life.

The Gene Extejt Scholarship Fund was established to carry forward Gene’s legacy by investing in the next generation of skilled construction professionals. Through the generosity of donors and supporters, the fund helps individuals pursue opportunities in the building industry by providing financial assistance for education, professional licensing, and the tools needed to begin or advance their careers.

As our community continues to grow, developing a skilled and qualified construction workforce is more important than ever. These scholarships help remove financial barriers, open doors to meaningful careers, and strengthen the future of our local building industry.

Through this golf tournament and the generosity of our supporters, we have an opportunity to honor Gene’s memory in a meaningful and lasting way. Every contribution helps someone take the next step toward a career in construction while supporting the continued growth and success of our community.

Your donation is more than a contribution. It is an investment in someone's future and a continuation of Gene Extejt’s legacy of leadership, mentorship, integrity, and community service.

Thank you for helping us honor Gene’s life and ensure his influence continues to make a difference for generations to come.
